About the event
Ruth Mulvie is the first Artist selected to exhibit within the newly refurbished Art Deco building Saltdean Lido.
Ruth is a contemporary fine artist, known for her vivid palette and for the delightfully unexpected detail in her paintings. She graduated from the Glasgow School of Art and over the years comparisons have been made with Hockney. Lancing-based painter Ruth Mulvie works with oils to produce wild, fanciful dreamscapes where expectations are distorted, and playfulness is abundant. Tigers lap from swimming pools, and pelicans and people convene beneath dayglow skies.
In her paintings we are invited to join the most wonderful party or shared experience. Mulvie’s realms surprise and delight. Hers are playful, glamorous worlds.
Saltdean Lido is a source of inspiration for Ruth and features in her work. Both originals and prints of the iconic building will be available to buy at the private view.
