Tour of the iconic newly refurbished Lido

The iconic Art Deco building has been lovingly restored to its former glory for the first time since the 1960’s, and it set to re-open in full this Summer. Enjoy a preview into the building with a guided tour around the recently restored Grade II* listed Modernist building by one of our dedicated volunteers.

Designed by architect Richard William Herbert Jones, Saltdean Lido first opened its doors in 1938. Named by English Heritage as ‘One of the Seven Wonders of The English Seaside’ and regarded by many critics as one of the best surviving examples of lido design in the UK.

Tours meet inside the main foyer and will then be followed by a guided walk to explore the whole building. There will be an opportunity to explore our carefully curated Heritage displays too.

Tours will last approximately 45 mins and must be pre booked online. Our Café is now open if you would like to pop in before or after the tour.
